One of the most difficult decisions for a newly married couple is choosing a place to make their home.
Movoto recently named Godley and Burleson to the list of top 10 best Fort Worth suburbs for young couples.
Movoto measured nine data points to rank the top 23 places to live for young couples: population of residents, population of residents under 5, population of residents age 22-34, number of married residents, median household income, median home value, crimes and high school graduation rate.
Godley — population 1,124 — was ranked No. 1. Four percent of residents are under 5.
Godley is No. 3 in the number of married residents and No. 19 in residents aged 22-34. The median home value ranks them at eighth.
Godley Mayor David Wallis said he thinks this shows some benefits to living in Godley.
“We think this article accurately reflects what we feel are the benefits of living in Godley,” Wallis said. “We are fortunate to have a successful, safe, thriving school district which is probably one of the most significant reasons younger couples are moving down here. Couple that with the lowest tax rate in Johnson County and easy access to the Parkway and Fort Worth, it’s easy to see why so many housing developments are being constructed here.”
